Service Completed: Custom Rear Exhaust Section with Jap Style Backbox – 1994 Toyota MR2 GX 2.0L Petrol

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a custom rear exhaust section for this iconic 1994 Toyota MR2 GX 2.0L Petrol, giving it the sound and styling to match its classic Japanese sports car heritage.

The customer wanted a more distinctive exhaust note along with a true JDM-inspired finish. We fabricated a bespoke rear section and fitted a Jap style backbox, finished with a striking blue burnt effect tailpipe that perfectly complements the MR2’s timeless design.

The new setup delivers a deeper, sportier exhaust tone while allowing the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine to sound more purposeful without being over the top. Combined with the blue burnt tip, the finished exhaust gives the car an authentic Japanese performance look that’s right at home on the MR2.

As with all of our custom exhaust systems, this rear section was fabricated in-house using high-quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, ensuring excellent durability, a precise fit, and a clean, professional finish built to last.
