Service Completed: Custom Cat-Back Exhaust System with Larger Bore using Mandrel Bends

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke cat back exhaust system for this Skoda Octavia, tailored to improve performance, sound, and overall driving feel.

The customer requested a larger bore system with mandrel-bent pipework, allowing for smoother exhaust flow throughout the system. By replacing the restrictive factory setup with a custom fabricated mid section and rear exhaust, we were able to help the engine breathe more efficiently, resulting in improved throttle response and a deeper, more refined exhaust tone.

Mandrel bending plays a key role in this setup, as it maintains a consistent internal diameter through each bend, reducing turbulence and back pressure. This not only helps maximise performance but also ensures a smoother flow of exhaust gases compared to standard crush bent systems.

As with all of our exhaust systems, this Octavia was built in-house using high quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, ensuring long lasting durability, a perfect fit, and a clean, professional finish throughout.
