Service Completed: Custom Cat-Back Exhaust Upgrade for Classic Vehicle

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke exhaust system for this MG B GT 1979, carefully designed to restore performance, improve sound, and complement the character of this timeless classic.

This build features a full custom cat-back exhaust system, including both mid and rear sections, replacing the ageing factory setup with a fully hand-fabricated solution. The new system provides a smoother exhaust flow and a cleaner, more refined tone, bringing the 1.8L engine back to life while staying true to its classic roots.

The system is finished with twin exhaust tips, adding a subtle but effective visual upgrade to the rear while maintaining a period-correct, OEM+ appearance.

On the road, the result is a deeper, more consistent exhaust note with improved drivability, enhancing the overall experience without overpowering the car’s vintage charm.

As with all of our work, this system was built in-house using high-quality T304 stainless steel, ensuring long-term durability, corrosion resistance, and a precise, clean finish.
