Service Completed: Custom Downpipe-Back Exhaust System with Flexi Section & Oval Chrome Tip

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently carried out a custom downpipe-back exhaust upgrade on this 2009 Mercedes-Benz C250 Sport CDI 2.2L Diesel, enhancing both the appearance and sound of the vehicle while improving the overall flow of the exhaust system.

For this build, we fabricated and installed a complete custom exhaust system from the downpipe backwards. The original system was removed and replaced with a bespoke stainless steel setup designed to provide improved exhaust flow, increased durability, and a more refined exhaust note suited to the 2.2-litre diesel engine.

As part of the installation, a new flexi section was incorporated into the system to help absorb engine movement and reduce stress throughout the exhaust, ensuring long-term reliability and improved durability. The custom-built system was tailored specifically to the vehicle to provide precise fitment and excellent ground clearance throughout.

To complete the rear of the vehicle, we fitted a single oval chrome exhaust tip. The polished oval design provides a clean and elegant finish that perfectly complements the styling of the C-Class Sport model. The upgraded tailpipe gives the rear of the vehicle a more premium appearance while maintaining the subtle and refined look expected from the Mercedes-Benz range.

The completed setup delivers a deeper and more noticeable exhaust tone compared to the factory system while retaining the comfort and usability required for everyday driving. The custom system allows the diesel engine to produce a smoother and more purposeful sound without becoming intrusive, providing an ideal balance between performance styling and daily practicality.
