Service Completed: Custom Cat-Back Exhaust with Centre Oval Backbox & Rolled Round Tailpipe – 2002 Mazda MX-5 1.6L Petrol

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke cat-back exhaust system for this 2002 Mazda MX-5 1.6L Petrol, giving this iconic roadster a fresh new exhaust with improved sound, performance, and a classic sporty finish.

The owner wanted an exhaust system that would enhance the MX-5’s character without being overly loud, so we fabricated a custom cat-back system featuring a centre oval backbox to deliver a deeper, refined exhaust note that’s perfectly suited to spirited driving and everyday use.

To complete the look, we finished the system with a high-quality rolled round tailpipe, complementing the timeless styling of the MX-5 while providing a clean, factory-inspired appearance.

Every section of the exhaust was manufactured in-house to ensure a precise fit and seamless integration with the vehicle. The finished system not only sounds fantastic but also enhances the overall look of this much-loved sports car.

As with all of our custom exhaust systems, this MX-5’s exhaust was fabricated from high-quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, providing exceptional durability, corrosion resistance, and a professional finish that’s built to last for years to come.
