Service Completed: Ford Focus RS 2009 2.5L Petrol Custom 3.5-Inch Over-Axle Exhaust Correction

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently welcomed this Ford Focus RS 2.5L Petrol into our workshop, not for a brand-new exhaust system, but to rectify an existing custom exhaust that had been fabricated and fitted elsewhere.

Although the vehicle already had a custom 3.5-inch exhaust fitted, it simply wasn’t sitting correctly. Poor alignment and inadequate clearance were causing fitment issues, affecting both the appearance and practicality of the system. Rather than recommending a complete replacement, we inspected the exhaust with the customer, discussed the available options, and came up with a solution that would deliver the best result while keeping costs to a minimum.

To help save our customer money, we retained and reused the sections of the existing system that were still in good condition, incorporating them into a newly fabricated over-axle section. By carefully redesigning the troublesome areas, we were able to create an exhaust that followed the contours of the vehicle correctly, provided the necessary clearances, and sat exactly as it should.

This is something we pride ourselves on. We’re not here to replace parts unnecessarily. If we can reuse quality components and provide a better solution that saves our customers money without compromising on workmanship, we’ll always recommend that route.

The finished result is a perfectly crafted 3.5-inch over-axle exhaust that sits securely, looks the part, and gives the owner complete peace of mind knowing the system has been built properly.
