Service Completed: Custom Cat-Back Valved Dual Exhaust with X-Pipe

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke cat-back valved dual exhaust system on this BMW 840Ci 4.0L Petrol (1995), designed to enhance performance, sound, and driver control while maintaining comfort for everyday driving.

The original exhaust system was replaced with a fully custom-built dual setup, incorporating an X-pipe and integrated valved sections. The addition of the X-pipe helps to balance exhaust pulses between both ბანკs of the V8 engine, improving exhaust scavenging, smoothing out airflow, and producing a deeper, more refined exhaust tone—especially under acceleration.

The valved system allows the driver to switch between a quieter, more subtle exhaust note and a louder, more aggressive sound at the push of a button, offering the best of both worlds depending on driving conditions.

As with all of our systems, this exhaust was hand-fabricated in-house using high-quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, ensuring excellent durability, a precise fit, and a clean, professional finish.

The system was completed with customer-selected tailpipes, giving the rear of the 840Ci a purposeful and timeless look that complements its grand touring styling.
