Service Completed: Custom Dual Exit Backbox Delete Upgrade

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke exhaust upgrade on this BMW 118i M Sport Shadow Edition (2018) 1.5L Petrol, designed to enhance both the styling and overall exhaust character while improving flow from the rear section.

This build featured a custom dual exit backbox delete, removing the restrictive factory rear silencer and replacing it with a freer-flowing configuration. The upgrade allows the engine to breathe more efficiently, resulting in a sharper throttle response and a sportier, more defined exhaust note with a noticeable increase in presence under acceleration.

The dual exit conversion completely transforms the rear-end appearance, giving the 118i a much more aggressive and balanced OEM+ look that better suits the M Sport Shadow Edition styling.

As with all of our exhaust systems, this setup was hand-fabricated in-house using high-quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, ensuring excellent durability, corrosion resistance, and a precise, long-lasting fit.
