Service Completed: Audi Q7 TDI Quattro S Line 2009 4.2L Diesel Back Box Delete

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a custom back box delete on this Audi Q7 TDI Quattro S Line 4.2L Diesel, giving the vehicle a cleaner rear-end appearance and a much deeper, more purposeful exhaust note.

From the factory, this Q7 featured a large oval rear silencer mounted horizontally across the back of the vehicle. While effective at reducing noise, the bulky back box is often hidden from view but limits the exhaust’s character.

For this upgrade, we removed the original rear silencer and fabricated a custom rear section, creating a cleaner dual-outlet setup with single exhaust tips on each side. The result is a far more refined and balanced rear-end appearance that better complements the bold styling of the Q7 S Line.

Alongside the visual improvement, the back box delete allows more of the 4.2L V8 diesel’s character to come through, producing a stronger, deeper exhaust tone without being intrusive during everyday driving. It’s the perfect upgrade for owners wanting to enhance both the sound and presence of their vehicle while retaining excellent drivability.

As with all of our custom exhaust systems, every component was fabricated and installed in-house using high-quality materials and precision craftsmanship to ensure outstanding fitment, durability, and a clean factory-quality finish.
