Service Completed: Dual Rear Section with High-Flow Performance Boxes & Quad Exhaust Tips

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently carried out a custom dual rear section upgrade on this 2008 BMW M3 4.0L Petrol, enhancing the sound and character of the iconic V8 while retaining the factory quad-exit styling that perfectly suits the M3’s performance pedigree.

For this build, we fabricated and installed a custom dual rear section incorporating a pair of high-flow performance rear boxes. The new setup was designed to improve exhaust flow while allowing the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre V8 engine to produce a deeper, louder, and more aggressive exhaust note compared to the standard system.

The dual rear section allows the engine’s character to come through much more prominently, delivering a richer tone at idle and a more engaging soundtrack throughout the rev range. The high-flow performance boxes help maintain a refined sound quality while reducing restriction, giving the M3 the exhaust note that its V8 engine deserves.

The system retains the factory quad exit arrangement, perfectly complementing the aggressive styling of the BMW M3. The clean rear finish maintains the original performance-inspired appearance while enhancing the vehicle’s presence and giving it a more purposeful look from every angle.

The completed setup delivers a significant improvement in sound, producing a deeper tone during normal driving and a more aggressive note under acceleration. The unmistakable V8 soundtrack becomes far more noticeable, adding to the overall driving experience while maintaining excellent everyday usability.
