Service Completed: Custom Back Box Delete & Carbon Fibre Quad Tip Upgrade

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a custom back box delete upgrade on this 2024 Porsche Macan S 2.9L Petrol, enhancing both the exhaust note and rear-end appearance with a bespoke stainless steel fabrication.

For this build, we removed the factory rear silencer and manufactured a custom stainless steel rear exhaust section in-house. The back box delete was carefully designed to unlock more of the character from Porsche’s 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering a deeper, more aggressive exhaust tone while maintaining refinement during everyday driving.

To complement the upgraded exhaust system, we finished the installation with a set of carbon fibre Akrapovič-style quad exhaust tips. The larger quad-exit arrangement transforms the rear appearance of the Macan S, giving it a more performance-focused and premium look that perfectly suits the vehicle’s sporty styling.

The custom rear section improves the overall exhaust flow characteristics while allowing the V6 engine to produce a richer and more engaging soundtrack throughout the rev range. The result is a noticeable increase in exhaust presence under acceleration, while still retaining the level of comfort expected from a modern Porsche.
