Service Completed: Custom Downpipe-Back Exhaust System with Twin Tailpipes

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently had the pleasure of working on this stunning 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL 5.6L Petrol, fabricating a complete custom downpipe-back exhaust system to replace the ageing original setup and ensure this classic luxury saloon can continue to be enjoyed for years to come.

For this project, our skilled stainless steel exhaust fabricators designed and manufactured a bespoke exhaust system from the downpipes backwards. The system features twin pipework running from the downpipes through the length of the vehicle, maintaining the configuration required to suit the powerful 5.6-litre V8 engine while providing a durable and long-lasting solution.

To complete the build, we finished the system with twin exhaust tailpipes, giving the rear of the vehicle a clean and elegant appearance that remains true to the character of this iconic Mercedes-Benz. The finished system complements the vehicle’s original styling while providing the reliability and longevity benefits of a modern custom-fabricated stainless steel exhaust.
