Service Completed: Mid Resonator Delete & Valved Rear Exhaust Section

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a custom exhaust upgrade on this 2016 Vauxhall Astra SRi ecoFLEX 1.0L Petrol, designed to give the vehicle a more engaging exhaust note while retaining the flexibility required for everyday driving.

For this build, we carried out a mid resonator delete, removing the centre silencing section of the exhaust system to allow more of the engine’s natural sound to come through. This modification helps add character to the exhaust note, providing a deeper and more noticeable tone without drastically altering the overall system.

To complement the resonator delete, we also fabricated and installed a custom valved rear exhaust section. An exhaust valve allows the driver to control the flow of exhaust gases through the rear section, giving the option of a quieter, more refined sound when closed and a louder, sportier exhaust note when open. This makes it an ideal solution for drivers who want enhanced sound on demand while maintaining comfort for longer journeys and daily use.

The combination of the mid resonator delete and valved rear section has transformed the character of the Astra, delivering a more enjoyable driving experience with the flexibility to tailor the exhaust sound to suit different driving situations.
