Service Completed: Custom Downpipe-Back Exhaust System

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke exhaust system on this BMW 318i Touring 1991, designed to refresh the ageing setup, improve exhaust flow, and enhance the overall driving experience.

This build features a full custom downpipe-back exhaust system, replacing the original components with a freer-flowing, more efficient design. The upgrade helps the engine breathe better, resulting in a smoother response and a cleaner, more consistent exhaust note.

Compared to the factory system, the new setup delivers a deeper, more refined tone while still staying true to the car’s classic character—perfect for both daily use and weekend drives.

As with many older vehicles, sourcing direct replacement exhaust systems can be difficult. That’s where our custom fabrication comes in, allowing us to build a system tailored specifically to the car for the best possible fit and performance.

As always, this system was fabricated in-house using high-quality T304 stainless steel, ensuring durability, corrosion resistance, and a clean OEM+ finish.
