Service Completed: Custom Backbox Delete Exhaust Upgrade

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke exhaust upgrade on this Subaru Impreza WRX S (2009) 2.5L Petrol, designed to enhance sound, improve flow, and bring out the true character of the boxer engine.

This build featured a custom backbox delete, removing the restrictive factory rear silencer to allow for a freer-flowing exhaust path. The result is a much more aggressive and raw exhaust note, with a deeper tone at low revs and a sharper, more pronounced sound as the engine comes into boost.

The upgrade significantly enhances the driving experience, allowing the iconic Subaru boxer engine to deliver a more engaging and motorsport-inspired sound profile while still remaining usable for road driving.

As with all of our systems, this setup was hand-fabricated in-house using high-quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, ensuring excellent durability, corrosion resistance, and a precise, long-lasting fit.
