Service Completed: Custom Downpipe-Back Exhaust System with Rear Tailpipe Conversion

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke downpipe back exhaust system on this Mercedes 190E (1991), a true modern classic that continues to be highly respected for its timeless design and driving feel.

The original exhaust setup featured twin curled-down tailpipe exits, which sat tucked underneath the rear of the vehicle. The customer requested a more visible, performance-inspired finish, so we reworked the system to bring the tailpipes fully into view at the rear.

After selecting the desired tip style with the client, we carefully fabricated the rear section to suit and modified the bumper to achieve a clean, factory-looking finish with improved visual presence. The result is a much more purposeful rear end appearance while still complementing the classic character of the 190E.

As with all of our custom work, this system was hand built in house using high-quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, ensuring durability, precision fitment, and a professional finish throughout.
