Service Completed: Rear Section Backbox Delete

At MIJ Exhaust Ltd, we recently carried out a backbox delete on this BMW 316i ES, focusing solely on the rear section of the exhaust system.

The original rear silencer was removed and replaced with a custom-fabricated rear section, designed to improve exhaust flow and give the car a more purposeful sound while keeping the rest of the system completely standard. This modification offers a noticeable change in tone without the need for a full exhaust replacement.

As with all of our work, the rear section was hand-built in-house using high-quality T304 stainless steel and fully TIG welded, ensuring a clean finish, durability, and a precise fit.

To finish off the look, the system was completed with a twin staggered black chrome tailpipe, chosen by the client, adding a subtle but sporty visual upgrade to the rear of the vehicle.

We’ve included before and after images to clearly show the transformation — highlighting the difference in appearance and the cleaner, more modern look of the updated rear section.
