This is an exhaust ring gasket replacement.
An exhaust gasket is technically used in between connection points. It’s main function is to create a gas tight seal to prevent any leakage through the joint.
A faulty or weak gasket can result in MOT failure and more consumption of fuel, so it will best to replace the seal.
